2 Day Shoulder Conference Workshop

This course is designed for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, physicians, athletic trainers and sports conditioning specialists.

This presentation provides an in-depth look and rationale behind looking at the scapular mechanics as the key to treating shoulder dysfunction.

It emphasizes the unique patterns of shoulder dysfunctions in the throwing athlete and the treatment approaches are based on more than 14 years of practical hands on experience rehabilitating baseball players.

What You Will Learn at this Workshop

The workshop will enable the participant to identify and treat common pathologies of the shoulder based on a sound anatomical and biomechanical rationale for the appropriate evaluation, testing and treatment of shoulder dysfunction.

Based on this new knowledge of shoulder dysfunction the participant will be able to analyze the throwing motion with the naked eye and through use of video analysis to uncover the reasons the player is developing shoulder problems. The participant will then be given the skills to correct the biomechanical faults through proper instruction in throwing mechanics and drills to implement the new patterns of motion.

In lab the participant will learn new and innovative treatment techniques that will cause immediate relief of shoulder pain and dysfunction.

In applying the lessons learned the participant should gain a confidence and ability to have immediate success and results with any shoulder pathology

Examination of class participants and application of shoulder techniques will begin the necessary practice needed to remember the concepts presented.

The Shoulder & Trunk Program

As the former physical therapist for the Oakland A’s Baseball Organization I developed a pitching program that was tested and is used by many major league and college baseball teams. This new and improved program will be introduced in the course.
